Jordan Schneider is a freelance director and playwright based in New York City. Originally from Southern California, he received his BFA in Theatre Performance from Chapman University. At Chapman, Jordan served as Artistic Director for Chapman On Broadway, where he led and expanded the organization to produce its first thematically structured season of programming which included two full-length musical productions, a full-length play, and a cabaret concert series. His background in improv helps him excel at thinking on the fly, working under pressure, and creating something out of nothing. He gravitates towards work that visually and imaginatively pushes the boundaries of what theatre can be. Directing highlights include: You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Urinetown: The Musical, Heathers: The Musical, Clue: Stay-at-Home Edition, and Spring Awakening. In addition to his directing and performance studies, he has taken courses in creative writing, dramatic analysis, and stage design. He also works as a teaching artist in after school theatre programs where he works with NYC public school students to create their own original short plays and musicals. There is nothing Jordan loves more than putting a smile on someone’s face, even if he has to pretend to walk into a door to do so. He seeks to create work that resonates with artists and audiences alike.
